Kindergarten

The Kindergarten Program is for children who turn five by their township cut-off date.  It is a New Jersey State Licensed program.  Upon completing kindergarten with us, children graduate to first grade.  The certified teacher-to-student ratio is 1 to 12.  Our program features group and independent activities in an academic curriculum.  They help children increase their attention span, master basic skills, and establish good work habits.  These skills, plus imaginative play and interaction with our caring staff, are the building blocks Alphabet Academy uses to create a solid foundation for your child's future.

PHONICS – Macmillan/ McGraw- Hill Publishers
                     Making the letter/sound connection
Each of the twenty six, sixteen page books introduces the sound of a letter through handwriting, auditory training and oral language. Each book is supplemented with numerous games, exercises and art projects that relate to the reading skills and letter being emphasized. The phonics series is structured so that all previously taught letters are reviewed and built into each succeeding letter book. Once the sixth book is completed, the children begin to blend sounds together to literally begin the “reading” process.
