PHONICS
– Macmillan/ McGraw- Hill

Making the letter/sound
connection
Each of the twenty six, sixteen
page books introduces the sound
of a letter through handwriting,
auditory training and oral
language. Each book is
supplemented with numerous
games, exercises and art
projects that relate to the
reading skills and letter being
emphasized. The phonics series
is structured so that all
previously taught letters are
reviewed and built into each
succeeding letter book. Once the
sixth book is completed, the
children begin to blend sounds
together to literally begin the
“reading” process.
